1.Re: An error has been encountered while generating the source code. Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.

Hi,

Are you running a registered copy Oxygen Code 3.7 Advanced?

There's a limit in the discontinued 'Professional' edition.

How many objects are you trying to generated against?

If your key for 3.5 was accepted, then you don't need a new key.

Can you send us the execution log?
Go to:
Tools> Execution log...

Copy the details of the exception and post to the forum or email to:

oxygen.support@techinceptions.com

Thanks

Having taking a second read of your post,

I believe you have to group your objects.

Having 600 objects in one schema or group will create a memory spike during the generation of the DataProvider class or the generation of the BusinessService class.

There are two ways to group your objects
1) Group your objects by using Schemas in the database
2) Group your objects by using the Virtual Schema feature in OCG ...

Hi,

The line below seems to be the culprit:

char[] testArray = content.ToString().ToCharArray();

I am not clear as to why it would create an "out of memory" exception, but I know one thing:

It is absolutely unnecessary.

It is one of two lines of testing code that was never removed.
We will remove the two lines of testing code.

I believe that is your case, the ...

Hi Irbs,

We are working on a presentation layer and workflow product that uses OCG in the background.

The output will be MVC for web and mobile.

We are not sure yet how it will be packaged, but an updated version of OCG will do the heavy lifting.

Do you use OCG for Services of presentation (primarily)?

The MVC package will be ready in months.

We should have a sample of the framework/App in a couple of weeks.
The sample app will be by invite only, so if you are interested, send an email to support@techinceptions.com, and I will send you a link to the sample app when it becomes available.

Hi Rreyes,

Time flies when you are doing R & D :-)

An updated version is being tested as we speak.

If you would like to see the sample App, please send an email to support@techinceptions.com and enquire about the EndApps Platform sample.

You should get an email with a login account in about 7 - 14 days.

Thanks

Posted by Arinze on 6/20/2012 1:37:27 AM
Hi irbs,

to get a GridView generated, you have two options

1) Configure 'Search' using OCMS
2) use the asp.net template editor to convert the FormView to a GridView.

I would start with option 1
13.Re: Changing the templates for Stored Procedure generation
Posted by Arinze on 5/23/2012 5:11:07 PM
Hi Irbs,

Most of the generated code is model-based so the templates are not exposed.

I would suggest that if you are using SPs and your code has stabilised, you could manually add the error handling that you require.

The alternative is to catch the errors at the application level; it much easier to log at that level.
14.Re: 3.6.12 not publishing all xxx.asc files
Posted by Arinze on 4/30/2012 3:26:55 PM
Hi,

Missed the post; still having problems?

Quick hint: DO NOT publish from the Source Code Explorer. Configure the publication before code generation. A great way to do that is to use the Visual Studio addin and the 'Create OxyGen Solution' menu item.

i haven't been able to reproduce your error, i may need more info.

are you running version 3.6.9?

how is your wcf configured:

'rest' or 'standard' ?

'rcp' or 'messaging' ?

for standard wcf (rpc _style,) an operation that involves paging, should look like the following:

public departmentqueryresult getalldepartment(paginginfo paginginfo)

hi rs 727,
Thanks for tracking it down.

You have the option of not implementing intercepts at the WCF level, is that a feasible solution for you?

We will get an updated version out ASAP

Hi guys,

this issue has been fixed in version 3.6.12

Please download the latest version of OxyGen Code.

Note: If you are switching from context based code to non-context based code, you may have to delete the files in the 'Durable' folder.

Leave a question if you have any.

Thanks

20.Re: 3.6.9 Not generating code for existing stored procures?
Posted by Arinze on 10/14/2011 10:25:47 PM
Check a couple of things:

1) Have the stored procedure been configured?
2)Are the 'Table'/'View'/'Virtual View' that are being returned by the stored procedures also selected for generation?
3) If you didn't assign a containing entity, the methods that call the stored procedure will be part of a class called DbFunctions

23.Configuring OxyGenCode for RESTful WCF
Posted by Arinze on 5/5/2011 12:27:11 PM
You will be able to use OCG to configure your generated WCF service to look RESTful – with a few exceptions.

1) You will still get a .svc (delete it)
2) There will be no global asax (add one)
3) The ServiceModel element in the config file will still look SOAPy (edit it)

Using OCG, this is how to configure the generated WCF to look RESTful:

Step 1: Open OxyGen Code Management Studio (OCMS)
